Serena Williams Into Australian Open Final
01.27.2010 MELBOURNE-- At the Australian Open Thursday (Wednesday night USA), Serena Williams has defeated the 16th seeded Na Li of China
7-6(7-4), 7-6(7-1) to advance to the women's singles final. Serena is also playing in the women's doubles competition.
In the final, Serena faces either Justine Henin of Belgium or Jie Zheng of China. Henin leads Zheng
now 5-1 in the match which is now being played.
Serena Williams Stages Remarkable Melbourne Comeback
01.26.2010 MELBOURNE-- At the Australian Open Wednesday (Tuesday night USA), Serena Williams came back from 4-6, 0-4 to defeat Victoria
Azarenka 4-6, 7-6(7-4), 6-2 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Serena faces Na Li of China who defeated in the same day Serena's
sister Venus Williams.
Head to head Serena leads Li 3-1 and should be in a good position to win the semifinal as Li is mostly a very consistent player who
takes advantage of her opponents' errors. If Serena can avoid the errors Venus made today, she should advance to the Melbourne final.
Serena Williams To Meet Victoria Azarenka In Quarterfinals

6-4, 6-2 while connecting with aggressive groundstrokes, volley and ten aces. Serena is the only player male or female left at the Australian
Open who has not lost serve in the tournament this year.
In the quarterfinals, Serena is set to take on the 7th seeded Victoria Azarenka of Belarus. Head to head, Serena leads Victoria 3-1.
Serena won the last meeting at Wimbledon last year 6-2, 6-3.
Serena Williams Into Australian Open Fourth Round
01.22.2010 MELBOURNE-- Serena Williams Saturday (Friday night USA) defeated Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain 6-0, 6-3 in the third round
in 1 hour and 21 minutes. In the fourth round, Serena takes on the 13th seeded Samantha Stosur of Australia.
Head to head Serena leads 2-1 but struggled against Stosur in their last two matches. In their first of two meetings last year,
Serena won 6-3, 6-7(4-7), 7-5 at Sydney but lost to Stosur in their last meeting last summer at Stanford, California 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.
Serena Williams Wins Australian Open First Round
01.18.2010 MELBOURNE-- Serena Williams Tuesday (Monday night USA) defeated the Polish teenager Urszula Radwanska 6-2, 6-1 in the first
round of the Australian Open. Williams' right thigh was wrapped with a white bandage but she moved with ease during the match.
In round two Serena plays either Petra Kvitova (CZE) or Jill Craybas (USA). Serena could meet her sister Venus Williams in the semifinals.
Serena Williams Easily Wins In Sydney

6-1, 6-2 Tuesday (Monday night usa). Serena next takes on the qualifier Vera Dushevina of Russia in the quarterfinals. Serena leads Dushevina
head to head 1-0, having won the only previous encounter at Miami in 2005 6-3, 6-0.
Serena Williams Avoids Justine Henin Sydney Matchup
01.10.2010 SYDNEY-- Serena Williams' Sydney got easier over the weeked as the former world number one Justine Henin of Belgium withdrew
from Sydney Saturday with an injured left leg. Henin lost last week in the Brisbane final to fellow Belgian Kim Clijsters in a
third set tiebreaker.
After a first round bye, Serena is now set to face either Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez of Spain or the qualifier Varvara Lepchenko of
the USA in the Sydney second round in her first match of 2010.
Serena Williams Could Open Against Justine Henin
01.08.2010 SYDNEY-- Serena Williams' first WTA Tour tournament of 2010 will be next week at Sydney, Australia at the
Medibank International. The tournament is outdoor hardcourt. Williams got a first round bye, but could face former
world number one Justine Henin of Belgium in the second round in her first match of the year.
Henin tonight USA time takes on her fellow Belgian Kim Clijsters in the Brisbane final in her first tournament back since her
May 2008 retirement from tennis.
