Serena Williams Withdraws From The Australian Open
12.06.2010 MELBOURNE-- Defending champion Serena Williams has withdrawn from January's Australian Open because of a foot injury. Serena has not played
a WTA Tour match since winning Wimbledon in July. Serena, who had a second surgery on her foot last month, finished this year ranked number four in the
WTA Tour singles rankings despite only playing six tournaments.
Serena Williams To Fall To #2, Return Next Week In Linz
10.09.2010 LOS ANGELES-- Due to her not playing on the WTA Tour since a summer foot injury, Monday Serena Williams will fall in the WTA
Tour rankings from number one to number two.
In other news, Serena has announced her return to the WTA Tour for next week at the Generali
Ladies Linz in Linz, Austria where she will be the top seed. Serena is also scheduled to play the WTA Tour's year ending tournament in Doha
and Fed Cup in San Diego, California November 6-7.

Serena Williams Withdraws From Tokyo, Beijing
09.27.2010 TOKYO,JAPAN-- The world number one Serena Williams pulled out of WTA Tour events in Tokyo, Japan and Beijing, China as she has
not yet returned to top form following a foot injury. Serena is practicing on the tennis court, but is not yet ready to play on the WTA Tour. Serena's
next tournament could be the Sony Ericsson Championships the week of October 25th at Doha, Qatar.
“While I have continued to make progress in
the recovery of my foot injury, unfortunately I am still not ready to compete,” Serena said. “In the meantime I am focused on my rehab program
and remain optimistic to return to competition this season.”
Serena Williams Next Tournament Could Be Tokyo
09.27.2010 TOKYO,JAPAN-- Serena Williams is scheduled to rejoin the WTA Tour at the Toray Pan Pacific Open at Tokyo, Japan
the week of September 27, 2010. It is doubtful that Serena will actually compete in this event however as she just started practicing not

If Serena does not make it to Tokyo, she could rejoin the WTA Tour at the China Open the week of October 4th. The Beijing, China event
is Serena's next scheduled event after Tokyo.
