Serena Williams Not At Her Best But Still Wins
08.28.2007 NEW YORK-- Serena Williams the US Open in the first round Monday night defeated Angelique Kerber 6-3, 7-5. Williams
made several errors and did not show her best footwork, but powered enough balls to advance no matter. In round two Serena takes
on Maria Elena Camerin of Italy. Williams has never played Camerin before. Serena should get by the 76th ranked Italian
who has never advanced past the second round at the US Open before.
Our pick: Serena Williams wins in straight sets.
Serena Williams Plays Monday Night At The US Open
08.27.2007 NEW YORK-- Serena Williams plays tonight after her sister Venus Williams' match. Venus' match starts at 6pm CST USA.
Serena we are estimating plays around 8pm CST USA.
08.25.2007 NEW YORK-- Serena Williams is in New York and gave a press conference today. She is playing the US Open during the
next two weeks. Her first round match will be Monday night at a time to be announced against Angelique Kerber of Germany. This should be
an easy match for Serena as Kerber is only 19 years old, ranked 70th and has never won a grand slam match before. But Kerber has won a
few lower level tournaments this year and is a lefthander so Serena will need to watch out. If Serena wins a few matches, she could play her
sister Venus Williams in the semifinals during week two of the US Open.
Our pick for round one: Serena Williams wins in straight sets.
